Mycotic foot infection, commonly known as fungus, is now very widespread and is an urgent problem for one in five compatriots. The causative agents are strains of Candida albicans. The pathology requires prompt treatment. An advanced disease is more difficult to treat, causing the patient a number of complexes and inconveniences.
In addition to medicinal methods of getting rid of fungus between the toes, there is growing interest in home treatment with folk remedies.
The most common folk methods
Antifungal drugs are made from expensive substances synthesized abroad, therefore, even in generic form, their cost is high. Grandma's simple recipes will tell you better than teachers how to cure fungus between the toes relatively quickly and without much expense.
Traditional treatment methods have become more popular because they are cheaper and safer (no side effects typical of medications). For many decades, the effectiveness of the methods suggested to humanity by nature itself has been proven.
Vinegar treatment
Fungus between the toes can be eliminated quickly and inexpensively with a regular table or a bite of an apple. It is easy to make lotions, compresses and baths. Acetic acid mixes easily with glycerin, iodine, fruit, vegetable and plant juices, and is added to homemade ointments.
The baths are composed of 9% table vinegar. This foot fluid is slightly warmed and the affected foot is lowered for 15 minutes.
Vinegar and vegetable oil are taken in equal proportions when preparing homemade ointment. It cures even the most advanced fungus between the fingers. The ointment turns out to be liquid, therefore a cotton swab is used to apply it. A gauze lotion from the mixture and a warm sock in the evening will significantly facilitate the patient's life from the first days!
Acceleration of healing of microcracks and ulcers before fungicide treatment with table acetic acid is accompanied by:
- Carrot juice.
- Infusion of calendula flowers.
- Sea buckthorn oil.
In cases of severe stinging and burning, the strength of the vinegar solution may be reduced.
The fungus that appeared between the fingers is "afraid" of apple acetate acid, especially if it is taken in a 1: 1 ratio with iodine solution. The product is intended for daily lubrication until the clinical manifestations of the disease completely disappear. It will be possible to completely "expel" the pathogen by continuing this treatment a little longer.
Internal intake of apple cider vinegar will help create an acidic reaction unfavorable to the pathogenesis of mycosis. The daily dose is 15 ml per glass of water.
Antifungal properties of sea salt
Fungus between the toes can be cured with regular sea salt therapy sessions. Baths are prepared from it in a ratio of 20 grams per 1 liter of warm, but not hot, water. 15 to 20 minutes is the optimal time to spray damaged areas of the foot in saline solution.
After the procedure, you should put clean, ironed socks on your dry feet. It is more advisable to take salt baths before bedtime, regularly for 14 days.
Garlic ointment
Fungus between the toes cannot be cured with baths alone. Therapy with "grandmother’s" remedies includes a recipe for garlic ointment. To prepare it, you only need two medium-sized cloves which, crushed, are mixed with 100 g of melted butter. Leave on for 24 hours until ready to use. The duration of the course is 1 month.
Iodine bath
Ordinary iodine tincture has a detrimental effect on the fungus that has affected the toes. 20 drops are diluted with warm water (3 liters) - and the healing bath is ready. You have to keep your legs there for a quarter of an hour. Iodine treatment lasts 2-3 weeks.
Potato peel
Toe fungus disappears by steaming the feet in a decoction of potato peelings. Affected areas should be kept in the liquid for 25-30 minutes. It is recommended to additionally wipe the affected areas with potato skins. This way the effect will be stronger. After carrying out this manipulation, blot the moisture between the fingers with a napkin and grease with pork fat.
Birch tar compresses
Birch tar effectively eliminates fungus from fingers and toes. Before the procedure, the feet should be steamed in soapy water, the scales should be scraped off with a pumice stone, the skin should be wiped dry, and then liquid tar should be applied for 90 minutes.
Phytotherapy in the fight against fungi
The fungus can be treated gently and painlessly with medicinal plants. Plants located in the yard or on the nearest roadside, in the form of infusions and decoctions, have an antiseptic, healing and drying effect.
Antifungal plant extracts of herbs and flowers are prepared for external use:
- Celandine.
- Calendula.
- Burdock.
- Mint.
- Nettle.
- St. John's wort.
- Wise.
- Chamomile.
60 milligrams of celandine herb are calculated per 1 liter of water. After boiling, the extract is left to infuse for 5 minutes. The filtered decoction is used for compresses and foot baths, taken half an hour daily for 21 days. Add 30 ml of vinegar to the boiled stem cake to use as a compress.
Field and meadow herbs (mint, chamomile and nettle, St. John's wort, sage) are dried, crushed, mixed and placed in socks for the whole day. The procedure lasts 3 weeks.
Herbal remedies for external treatment
Burdock juice has a detrimental effect on foot fungus. To obtain it, young leaves are collected, beaten with a hammer and wrapped around the feet at night, securing with a piece of gauze, bandage or sock. Do the same with the rowan leaves, changing them every half day.
To wash your fingers with calendula infusion, you need to take 250 grams of dried flowers and a glass of boiled water. The infusion time is 30 to 35 minutes. The effect can be achieved in 30-40 days.
Herbal decoction for internal use
Aqueous extracts of famous medicinal plants help destroy the fungus that lives between the toes:
- Common burdock.
- Yarrow.
- Mugwort.
- Plantain.
Herbs should be taken in equal proportions to obtain a healing mixture. A decoction is prepared at the rate of 5 grams of mixed plants per 100 ml of water. The extract is infused for 6 hours, after which it is ready to use in the morning before meals.
Treatment with anti-dandruff shampoo
For those who don't have the time or inclination to bother with alternative medicine techniques, the fungus can be treated by showering with an anti-dandruff shampoo. They should wash their feet regularly, dry them and wear a clean sock at night.
Practical tools to help you
The solution to the problem of foot candidiasis can be found on the kitchen shelves and in the refrigerator itself. Rock salt and soda, available to every housewife, can be used as an effective home remedy. If you regularly spray your feet in a soda salt solution, you can successfully and quickly cure fungus between your toes.
Molecules of a saturated solution of table salt penetrate deep into the layers of the skin, inhibiting the development of pathogenic cells. A cotton pad soaked in this product is inserted into the perineum of the phalanges without causing pain or burning. After the first two weeks of salt therapy, the itching disappears and after 2 months the cracks heal.
